Holmer C of E Academy are very proud to be part of a cluster of schools who have forged partnerships with schools in Pakistan, through the British Council. Our partner school is the Hira Foundation School in Karachi.

We particularly enjoy our Zoom meetings during which we discuss all sorts of global issues, such as mental health and well-being, and our environment. It’s amazing how many concerns we have in common. However, it’s even more amazing to be able to work together on our critical thinking to try to find solutions!

In addition to this, we are also really excited to be working towards Global Neighbours accreditation. This involves us using our Christian vision “inspiring us all to create a better world” to help us to act against inequality and work towards a world free poverty. As part of this, we have looked at the seventeen sustainable development goals and, each term, elect one to focus on as a whole school. Although we may be small, we recognise that by sharing our knowledge and skills and having the confidence to try to create a positive change, we really can make a difference!
