  • Holmer Glee Choir

Holmer Glee Choir is an energetic and joyful singing group for children in Years 2 to 6, held on Tuesday afternoons during school hours. Launched in January 2026, the choir offers children the opportunity to come together through music, build confidence and enjoy singing as part of a team.

What is Holmer Glee Choir all about?

Our Glee Choir is designed to be fun and energetic. Rehearsals draw on a wide range of music, including:

    • Popular children’s songs
    • Film favourites
    • Disney favourite
    • Musical theatre pieces

Alongside enjoyment, children develop important musical skills such as listening, blending voices, rhythm, expression and performance confidence.

    Commitment and Attendance

Being part of a choir involves teamwork and commitment. To help us build a strong and reliable group, we keep a weekly register and encourage regular attendance wherever possible. This allows the choir to grow in confidence and make steady progress together.

    Practising at Home

Regular practice at home plays an important role in the choir’s development. We encourage children to practise songs when they have the opportunity so that they become familiar with both the words and the melodies. Our aim is for children to move “off copy” as soon as possible, meaning they are not reliant on reading lyrics. This enables us to:

    • Build a confident repertoire of songs
    • Prepare for performances and sing-outs
    • Focus on performance elements such as movement, expression, dynamics and stage presence

    Links and Resources for Practice

These links and resources allow children to practise independently and enjoy singing at home. Songs will be added as and when they are introduced during practice.

We are proud of the positive impact Holmer Glee Choir has on children’s confidence, teamwork and musical development, and we look forward to sharing their performances with the wider school community throughout the year.
