Choir

We have a thriving choir here at Holmer. Pupils look forward to rehearsing together and recognise the many benefits of singing together. For some, it is their chance to do what they love most; for others, it is an opportunity to enjoy being with others and an escape from the real world. Whatever their reason, we can guarantee that hearing their voices will warm hearts, put lumps in throats and maybe even tempt you to sing along!

Not only do we get to learn a wide variety of different songs, but we also get to perform at all kinds of different venues. From Young Voices at the Genting Arena in Birmingham, to collaborating with our friends in the English Symphony Orchestra to perform for elderly residents in care homes - we love every second and have made memories which will last a lifetime!

If you are a Holmer pupil and love singing, then what are you waiting for? Join us - we'd love to welcome you into our choir!

Hark, the Herald Angels Sing (Tune: Mendelssohn - 3vv) [with lyrics for congregations]

"Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" was written by the great English hymn writer Charles Wesley in 1739. The original opening was 'Hark, how all the welkin [heavens] rings, Glory to the King of Kings.' This was changed by Wesley's co-worker George Whitefield to the version we have now.
