5W and 5P
The Year 5 team is made up of a plethora of skills and experiences, separated into two classes, which will run parallel and cover the same learning criteria from within the National Curriculum.
The 5P team is Miss Pollard and the class is supported by teaching assistant Mrs. Hiden, who supports both classes in the afternoons. 5W is taught by Mrs. Welling with teaching assistant Mrs Lowiska. As always within school, we hold high levels of expectations for children to be able to rise to the challenge, whilst valuing their individuality and celebrating achievements.
This term children will have two PE slots so the appropriate school kit should be in school – white t shirt, green shorts, sombre coloured trainers with a change of socks and dark jogging bottoms in case of inclement weather. If your child has long hair, it is required to be tied back and pierced ears taped or the earrings removed.
Homework will be set on a Friday, as it is in all Key Stage 2 Year groups. Homework will consists of a set of spellings, one piece of maths and one piece of literacy. Alongside this, children are required to continue their reading each evening for at least 20 minutes, exposing them to a wide range of genres.
Please remember if you have any questions or concerns – the Year 5 door is always open!
